Dr. Mbaya Named Best-Performing CECM in Kitui County, Eyes Senate Seat

Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele has been recognised as the Best-Performing County Executive Committee Member (CECM) in Kitui County in the Pollster Ranking 2026 Survey.

According to the certificate dated September 16, 2026, Dr. Mbaya earned the recognition following the survey, adding to his growing profile as he sets his sights on the Kitui County senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.

The recognition is a boost to Dr. Mbaya’s political ambitions as he positions himself as a strong contender for the Senate seat, with his supporters hopeful that his leadership experience will translate into greater service to the people of Kitui.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, the award could provide fresh momentum for his campaign, although voters will ultimately determine his political future at the ballot.
