Tensions at Kyamutwii Primary as Parents Demand Headteacher’s Removal

This morning, a group of concerned parents at Kyamutwii Primary School in Makutano Location, Mwala Sub-county, staged a dramatic protest by withdrawing their children from the institution. The parents expressed their dissatisfaction with the current headteacher, vowing that they would not allow their children to return to school until the head of the institution is removed.

The parents accused the headteacher of nepotism, alleging that they are related to three other teachers currently employed at the same school. The protesting parents claimed this relationship has led to bias and poor management, which they believe is negatively affecting the learning environment.

“We will not sit back and watch as our children suffer under such leadership. The headteacher must leave,” said one parent during the protest.

The parents have demanded immediate action from the Ministry of Education and the Machakos County education officials, warning that learning will remain paralyzed until their concerns are addressed.

School officials and local authorities have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the incident.
