Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has underscored the government’s continued commitment to equitable development across the country, citing a series of major infrastructure and economic empowerment projects currently transforming Narok County.
Speaking at Enooseyia, Ildamat Ward in Narok East Constituency during a resource mobilization event for 23 churches and church-run community groups, Prof. Kindiki highlighted several flagship projects that are driving progress and improving livelihoods across the region.
He announced that Narok East Constituency is now home to two fully completed modern fresh produce markets — the Ntulele Market and Suswa Market, each constructed at a cost of KSh 55 million. In addition, a third and larger market is currently under construction at Nairegie Enkare, with an investment of KSh 179 million, expected to serve as a central hub for trade and agricultural produce in the area.
The Deputy President also confirmed the completion of the Ngong–Suswa Road, which has significantly improved connectivity within Narok and to neighboring counties, boosting trade and transport efficiency. He further cited the completion of the Ewaso Nyiro Leather Factory in Narok North Constituency, a project that has opened up new opportunities for local livestock farmers and small-scale traders.
In the energy sector, Prof. Kindiki revealed that the government has implemented Last Mile Electricity Projects worth KSh 2.4 billion, connecting an additional 14,000 households across Narok County to the national grid.
He also announced that construction works have commenced on the Narok International Airport, a transformative project expected to enhance tourism, trade, and logistics, while positioning Narok as a key regional economic hub.
“These projects are a clear demonstration that the government of President William Ruto is committed to bringing development to every corner of this country. Narok County is on the move from roads to markets, from power to housing, we are transforming lives and creating opportunities,” said Prof. Kindiki.
The Deputy President emphasized that more projects are in the pipeline, including additional roads, bridges, affordable housing units, and other essential infrastructure aimed at improving the quality of life for residents.
The event was attended by several leaders, including Narok East MP Ken Aramat, Narok West MP Gabriel Tongoyo, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah (Kikuyu MP), Chief Whip Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango MP), Members of County Assembly, members of the clergy, and hundreds of local residents.
Prof. Kindiki lauded the unity and collaboration among leaders and communities in Narok, urging continued partnership between the national and county governments to ensure sustained growth and equitable development across the region.
