Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Geoffrey Ruku and Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) Commissioner Ben Muasya today led a major relief food distribution exercise in Ndolos, Kabati area, aimed at supporting vulnerable households affected by food shortages.
The initiative, spearheaded under the national government framework, saw hundreds of residents receive food supplies in a move leaders said underscores the administration’s commitment to cushioning Kenyans against the effects of drought and economic hardships.
Speaking during the exercise, Muasya emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation with the national government, urging the Kamba community to rally behind President William Ruto to fully benefit from ongoing development and support programs.
Muasya noted that aligning with government initiatives would ensure the region secures a fair share of national resources, adding that the Kenya Kwanza administration is keen on equitable distribution through institutions such as the CRA.
Cabinet Secretary Ruku, who was the chief guest, reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of citizens through targeted interventions such as the Social Health Authority (SHA) and food security programs. He highlighted that such initiatives are designed to reach citizens at the grassroots level and uplift livelihoods across the country.
Ruku also took a firm stance on political discourse surrounding government programs, cautioning former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua against criticizing the Social Health Authority (SHA). He maintained that the program is already benefiting Kenyans across all levels and should not be politicized.
“The Social Health Authority is a transformative program meant to ensure every Kenyan accesses affordable healthcare. Leaders should support it instead of creating unnecessary confusion,” Ruku said.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely to deliver government services effectively, calling on residents to remain patient and supportive as more development projects are rolled out in the region.
The relief exercise marks part of a broader national effort to address food insecurity while strengthening public trust in government-led initiatives.
