Governor Malombe Commissions Key Health and Skills Projects in Kitui East

Residents of Kitui East , endau malalani ward have received a major boost in healthcare and youth empowerment following the commissioning of critical development projects by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today.

In a move aimed at strengthening access to quality medical services, the Governor officially opened the Endau Dispensary Outpatient Block and a fully equipped maternity wing. The new facilities are expected to significantly improve service delivery, reduce congestion, and enhance maternal and child healthcare in the region.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Malombe emphasized his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every resident has access to affordable and reliable healthcare. He noted that the maternity unit will play a crucial role in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, while also providing a safe and dignified environment for mothers.

“This is part of our broader vision to bring healthcare services closer to the people. No mother should have to travel long distances to access safe delivery services,” he said.

In addition to the health projects, the Governor also commissioned the Syou Vocational Training Center, a facility set to transform the lives of young people by equipping them with practical skills for self-reliance and employment.

Dr. Malombe highlighted the importance of technical and vocational education in addressing youth unemployment, stating that the center will offer courses tailored to market demands and empower local youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Leaders and residents who attended the event lauded the county government for prioritizing development projects that directly impact the community. They expressed optimism that the new facilities will not only improve livelihoods but also spur economic growth in Kitui East.

The commissioning marks another milestone in the Governor’s development agenda, reinforcing his commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and expanding opportunities for the youth across Kitui County.
