Malombe Rallies Executive Team to Cement Legacy as Over 2,900 Projects Transform Kitui

Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has issued a firm and forward-looking directive to his executive team, urging them to sharpen focus on results, consolidate achievements, and secure a lasting legacy as their term approaches its final stretch.

Speaking during the official opening of the Executive Working Consultative Sessions in Mombasa, the governor positioned his administration as one defined by delivery, pointing to more than 2,900 development projects rolled out since 2022. These span key sectors including water, health, agriculture, and infrastructure areas he described as the backbone of Kitui’s socio-economic transformation.

Among the standout achievements highlighted were flagship initiatives such as the Kangu Kangu water pipeline, expansion of health facilities across the county, and an intensified road construction programme aimed at improving connectivity and boosting local economies.

Dr. Malombe emphasized that the consultative sessions are not merely procedural, but strategic designed to take stock of the county’s performance over the last four years and translate it into a coherent, verifiable scorecard. He noted that this process is critical in aligning leadership around final-year priorities while clearly defining the administration’s legacy.

In a tone that underscored both urgency and discipline, the county chief called for tighter coordination within government departments, enhanced strategic communication, and a stronger reliance on data-driven decision-making. These, he said, are essential tools in navigating the political and economic pressures expected ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The governor also issued a caution against misinformation, warning that false narratives could erode public trust and undermine the tangible gains made under his leadership. He challenged his team to remain steadfast, transparent, and results-oriented in the face of such threats.

Reinforcing his leadership philosophy, Dr. Malombe remarked: “A vision without action is merely a dream; action without vision just passes the time; but vision with action can change the world.”
The high-level sessions are being facilitated with support from moderators drawn from the Council of Governors, ensuring structured dialogue and reinforcing strategic alignment as the administration enters its final phase.

As the countdown to the next electoral cycle begins, Malombe’s message was clear: the focus must remain on delivery, accountability, and leaving behind a development record that speaks for itself.
