ps jonathan mueke strengthens ruto’s grassroots network as uda leaders rally women in kitui rural

Principal Secretary for Livestock Jonathan Mueke has continued to strengthen his grassroots engagement in Kitui County after joining UDA leaders and residents at Kiusyani in Kitui Rural for a women’s economic empowerment programme.
The event brought together women groups and community members who benefited from support aimed at strengthening their economic activities and improving household livelihoods.

As the programme unfolded, the political mood at Kiusyani was unmistakable, with chants of “Ruto two terms” dominating the event as residents and UDA supporters expressed their continued support for President William Ruto and his administration.
The gathering also offered a platform for Jonathan Mueke, widely regarded as President Ruto’s point man in the region, to deepen his engagement with grassroots communities and mobilise support for the President’s development agenda.

Speaking during the event, Mueke emphasised the importance of empowering women economically, noting that supporting women’s groups is a direct investment in families and communities. He said economic empowerment remains essential in enabling women to expand their businesses, improve household incomes and contribute more effectively to local development.

The women hailed the initiative, saying the support would go a long way in strengthening their groups and enabling them to pursue sustainable economic activities.

The event further demonstrated the growing grassroots mobilisation around President Ruto’s leadership, with residents reaffirming their support for his administration and expressing confidence in the development agenda being implemented by the Kenya Kwanza government.

As President Ruto’s point man in the region, Mueke has increasingly positioned himself as a key link between the national government and grassroots communities, championing programmes aimed at empowering residents while strengthening the UDA party’s presence in the region.

The Kiusyani event ended on a high political note, with residents and supporters reaffirming their support for President William Ruto and echoing calls for his re-election for a second term.
