Governor Wavinya Ndeti Advances Solar Power Investment at Kathiani Level 4 Hospital.

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to people centred development through strategic investments aimed at improving essential public services and reducing the cost of service delivery. The commitment was demonstrated during her Kathiani Central Development Ward tour, which began at Kathiani Level 4 Hospital, where she commissioned the ongoing solarisation project. The solarisation project features 90 solar panels, each with a capacity of 560 watts, alongside a 45kWh battery storage system. The first phase is designed to provide reliable and sustainable power for the hospital’s critical loads, supporting uninterrupted operations and enhancing the facility’s ability to deliver essential healthcare services to residents.Governor Ndeti said the next phase of the project will increase the battery storage capacity to support the hospital’s entire power demand. The investment is expected to significantly reduce the facility’s reliance on electricity from the national grid while lowering operational costs, creating an opportunity for more resources to be channelled towards improving patient care and other priority healthcare needs. The project underscores Governor Ndeti’s focus on practical investments that deliver lasting benefits to the people of Machakos. By embracing renewable energy at Kathiani Level 4 Hospital, her administration is not only promoting a more reliable power supply but also advancing a cost-effective and sustainable approach to healthcare delivery, ultimately creating a better environment for patients and healthcare workers.
