Alfred Mutua’s Desperate Bid for Relevance: Former Governor Turns People’s Park Into a Political Battleground

Former Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua appears increasingly detached from the realities on the ground, resorting to political propaganda instead of engaging with facts about Machakos People’s Park.

The People’s Park has remained a vibrant public facility, hosting major events such as the annual Vuka Festival and providing a platform where traders, suppliers, creatives and other local businesses can earn a living. Its continued maintenance is necessary to keep the facility safe, functional and attractive to residents and visitors.

Attempts to portray routine maintenance and upkeep as wrongdoing are therefore misleading and politically motivated. The people of Machakos deserve facts, not manufactured controversies designed to score political points.

Dr Mutua should, instead of peddling allegations and political rhetoric, account for his own record and allow the current administration to focus on what matters: creating opportunities, supporting local enterprises and delivering tangible services to the people.

Machakos needs solutions, not political noise. The facts speak for themselves, and the People’s Park remains a facility serving the people of Machakos.
