Senate Education Committee Visits Kitui to Review ECDE and TVET Programs

 

The Senate Standing Committee on Education, led by Chairperson Senator Betty Montet, is currently touring Kitui County to evaluate the progress of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.

The purpose of the visit is to review developments in the devolved education sector within the county and assess its impact.

During a briefing held earlier today in the Governor’s boardroom, the senators lauded the county government for its significant efforts in improving educational infrastructure. They emphasized the importance of sustaining these initiatives to create a more conducive learning environment for ECDE learners.

The committee’s assessment will inform future policy decisions aimed at enhancing educational outcomes for children in Kitui and across the country.

Later today, the senators are scheduled to visit several ECDE centers across the county to further examine their condition and effectiveness.

Among the senators present were Agnes Kavindu, Catherine Mumma, John Kinyua, Kamau James Murango, and Professor Margaret Kamar, who serves as the committee’s Vice Chairperson.
