Mwengi Mutuse Delivers on Promise to Transform Utini Market into Thriving Agribusiness Hub

What was once a quiet and sleepy village market in Utini, Nguu, has now transformed into a bustling hub of agribusiness, thanks to the efforts of Kibwezi West Member of Parliament, Hon. Mwengi Mutuse.

Speaking during a commissioning event, MP Mutuse announced the successful implementation of critical infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of modern street and flood lights in Utini market. These enhancements aim to create a 24-hour favorable business environment that will boost economic activities for local farmers and traders.

“Utini market in Nguu was once a sleepy village. We have now made it an active agribusiness area,” said Hon. Mutuse. “These are street and flood lights to ensure a 24-hour favorable business environment.”

The MP emphasized that the improvements are part of his broader development agenda to uplift the lives of residents in Kibwezi West through economic empowerment, especially in rural trading centers.

“My farming and trading communities of Simba, Thithi, Utini and neighboring areas – I have delivered my pledge,” he affirmed.

Residents and local business owners have welcomed the changes, noting that the improved lighting has not only enhanced security but also extended business hours, enabling traders to serve more customers and increase their income.

The transformation of Utini is seen as a model for rural economic revitalization through strategic infrastructure investment, and a testament to Hon. Mutuse’s commitment to grassroots development.

As the lights shine brighter over Utini, so does the hope of a prosperous future for the agribusiness communities of Kibwezi West.
