Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has affirmed the Government’s unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of millions of ordinary Kenyans through deliberate economic and social investments aimed at stabilizing the economy and creating jobs.

Speaking during an economic empowerment engagement at Kasikeu Market in Kilome Constituency, Makueni County, the Deputy President highlighted a raft of initiatives under the 2025/2026 national budget designed to improve livelihoods without burdening Kenyans with new taxes.
“To make life easier for millions of ordinary Kenyans, the Government is taking deliberate measures to stabilize the macroeconomic environment, create job opportunities within our borders, online and abroad—especially for our youth—and invest in infrastructure and other social enablers for economic transformation,” said Prof. Kindiki.

Infrastructure development remains a top priority, with the Deputy President reaffirming the Government’s pledge to complete all stalled road projects across the country. In Makueni County, the Kasikeu-Kikoko, Kasikeu-Kilome, and Kautandini-Kiima Kiu roads are being upgraded to bitumen standard, delivering on President William Ruto’s promise to the region.
“We will revive and complete all stalled road projects to ease the movement of people and goods. Our development agenda is anchored on inclusivity and ensuring that no region is left behind,” Prof. Kindiki said.
The event brought together a host of national and regional leaders in a show of unity and shared vision for development. Among those present were MPs Vincent Musyoka Kawaya (Mwala), Caleb Mule (Machakos Town), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi West), Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga), Senator Tabitha Mutinda, Titus Khamala (Lurambi), Innocent Mugabe (Likuyani), John Bwire (Taveta), and President’s aide Farouk Kibet.
