Residents of Maluma in Kitui South and Voo in Kitui East are set to receive vital administrative support as the government moves to deploy Assistant County Commissioners (ACCs) to the two areas starting Monday.
For a long time, both locations have been without ACC officers, a gap that has denied locals easy access to essential government services. The absence of such critical representation has forced residents to travel long distances to seek administrative assistance.
While addressing the public in Mutomo earlier today, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced that the government will station ACCs in Maluma and Voo beginning next week, marking a significant step toward improving service delivery.
“This government is committed to ensuring that every citizen receives the services they deserve, right where they live,” Kindiki emphasized, reaffirming the administration’s focus on decentralizing public services.
The move comes in response to continued appeals from local leaders and community members, who have called for improved government presence and accessibility in the two regions.
