Kalonzo Vows United Opposition Will Do ‘Whatever It Takes’ to Defeat Ruto in 2027

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that the United Opposition coalition is prepared to make any sacrifice necessary to ensure President William Ruto serves only one term in office.

Speaking in Nairobi on Saturday, Kalonzo said the alliancecomprising Rigathi Gachagua of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), Eugene Wamalwa of the Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K), Martha Karua of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP), and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i was firmly united in its mission to unseat the Head of State in the 2027 General Election.

“No one should imagine that Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Rigathi Gachagua, Martha Karua, Fred Matiang’i, or any other of our colleagues can be bought, intimidated, or coerced into abandoning this cause,” he said.

The former Vice President accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of presiding over “failed policies” and “bad governance,” adding that the coalition’s resolve had only strengthened since the 2022 polls.

“We believe William Ruto’s regime has failed Kenyans and must be a one-term presidency. Our mission is to free the country from punitive taxes, corruption, and mismanagement, and restore integrity, accountability, and respect for the Constitution,” Kalonzo stated.

He reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to stand with Kenyans, promising that their unity was unshakable. “We will never abandon the people of Kenya, and we believe they will not abandon us. Together, we will end this corrupt, broad-based government,” he said.

With less than two years to the next General Election, the United Opposition is positioning itself as the leading political force challenging President Ruto, pledging to intensify its campaigns nationwide.
