The Kitui West incoming MP, Generali Fredrick Kimanga, today joined the family, friends, and hundreds of mourners at the burial ceremony of the late David Ngii, the Kabati businessman who recently lost his life after being attacked by armed unknown assailants at his workplace.
The somber ceremony, held at the family home, brought together community members still reeling from shock and grief following the tragic incident that robbed them of a dedicated and hardworking man.
While addressing mourners, Generali Kimanga expressed deep sorrow over Ngii’s untimely death, describing him as a respected and industrious resident whose contribution to the growth of Kabati market will be dearly missed. He comforted the grieving family and assured them of his support during this difficult moment.
“Today we lay to rest a man who was committed to uplifting his community through honest work. His loss is not just for the family, but for the entire Kabati fraternity. May the Lord strengthen this family as they endure this painful journey,” Kimanga said.
Generali Kimanga used the platform to urge security agencies in Kabati to heighten security, stressing that the market now one of the fastest-growing commercial centers in Kitui West requires increased vigilance to protect traders, customers, and residents.
“As Kabati continues to grow, so must our commitment to ensuring safety. Enhanced patrols, surveillance, and a proactive security approach are urgently needed so that businesspeople like Ngii can operate without fear,” he emphasized.
Kimanga further noted that insecurity threatens economic progress, and underscored the importance of a safe environment for businesses to thrive.
During the ceremony, Kimanga also represented Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, who conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family. Through Kimanga, the governor condemned the brutal killing and assured residents of the county’s commitment to collaborating with security agencies to safeguard all communities across Kitui West.
The burial ceremony was marked by emotional tributes as the community remembered the late Ngii for his kindness, hard work, and dedication to service.
As the family bids their final farewell today, leaders and residents continue to call for swift investigations and long-term solutions to the insecurity challenges facing Kabati market.
