Machakos Youth Service Trainees Begin Boot Camp Orientation Ahead of Countywide Vocational Training Placement

The Machakos Youth Service (MYS) trainees are currently undertaking comprehensive course introduction sessions at the boot camp, facilitated by highly experienced trainers drawn from various county Vocational Training Centres (VTCs). The sessions are designed to equip the students with essential foundational skills and orientation as they prepare to transition into their respective training institutions.

Following the boot camp, the trainees will be deployed to eight fully equipped VTCs across Machakos County—Masii, Kyemutheke, Kyevaluki, Masinga, Kituluni, Athi River, Matuu, and Mitaboni, ensuring they access quality, hands-on technical training within their local communities.

Upon successful completion of their courses, the trainees will sit for National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) examinations and receive nationally recognized certifications. This initiative aims to enhance employability, promote entrepreneurship, and foster self-reliance among the youth, while strengthening skills development and contributing to the socio-economic growth of Machakos County.
