PS Jonathan Mueke Distributes Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities in Kitui

The Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, Jonathan Mueke, today led a humanitarian outreach at Syongila Vocational Training Center where he distributed wheelchairs, crutches, walking sticks and food supplies to persons living with disabilities.

The exercise, which attracted residents from different parts of the area, aimed at improving mobility and easing the daily challenges faced by people living with disabilities in the community. Beneficiaries received assistive devices that will help them move around more easily and participate actively in social and economic activities.

Speaking during the event, Mueke said the government remains committed to promoting inclusion and ensuring that persons living with disabilities are not left behind in development programs. He noted that access to mobility equipment is essential in restoring dignity and independence among individuals with physical challenges.

The Principal Secretary emphasized that initiatives targeting vulnerable members of society are critical in strengthening communities and ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to live a dignified life.

During his address, Mueke also urged residents of Kitui County to be vigilant when electing leaders in the 2027 General Election. He called on the electorate to critically assess the track record of aspiring leaders before entrusting them with leadership positions.

According to the PS, leaders seeking public office must first demonstrate what they have done for the people before asking for votes.

“Before electing leaders in 2027, wananchi must first investigate and evaluate their record of service. Leadership should be about tangible results and service to the people,” he said.

Mueke encouraged residents to prioritize development-oriented leadership that focuses on uplifting communities and addressing the needs of ordinary citizens.PS Jonathan Mueke Distributes Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities in Kitui
