Waziri Generali Hon. Frederick Kimanga, widely regarded as the incoming Member of Parliament for Kitui West, today stood out among leaders who joined residents in paying their last respects to the late Mama Veronica Syomwiu Mulila during an emotional burial ceremony held at Kitheka.
Hon. Kimanga joined Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, Deputy Governor Wambua Kanani, and several other county and national government leaders in honouring the life of the late matriarch, who was the beloved mother of Nicholas Mulila of Safaricom.
The solemn requiem mass was presided over by Rt. Rev. Bishop Mwongela, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, assisted by the Coadjutor Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Machakos, drawing hundreds of mourners from across the county who gathered to celebrate Mama Mulila’s life and legacy.
In his message of condolence, Hon. Frederick Kimanga comforted the bereaved family and praised the late Mama Veronica Mulila for raising a family that has continued to contribute positively to society.
He urged residents to remain united, emphasizing the importance of community solidarity during moments of grief. Kimanga noted that Mama Mulila’s life was a true reflection of humility, resilience, and dedication to family and community values.
“Today we stand together not only to mourn but also to celebrate a life that touched many people. Mama Veronica Mulila leaves behind a legacy of love, unity, and strong family values that should inspire all of us,” said Kimanga.
Leaders present eulogized the late Mama Mulila as a hardworking and compassionate woman whose life was deeply rooted in faith and service to the community.
Governor Dr. Julius Malombe also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Mulila family, urging them to remain strong and find comfort in the impactful life their mother lived.
The burial ceremony brought together leaders, relatives, friends, and residents from different parts of Kitui County, reflecting the deep respect and admiration many had for the late Mama Veronica Syomwiu Mulila.
