The Commissioner for Revenue Allocation, Hon. Ben Muasya, on Monday joined national and county government leaders in Kitui County to mourn and celebrate the life of the late Mama Veronica Mulila during her burial ceremony held at Kitheka in Kauwi Ward, Kitui West Constituency.
Hon. Muasya joined leaders led by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe as hundreds of mourners gathered to pay their last respects to the late matriarch, whose life was remembered for her devotion to family, faith, and community.
In his condolence message, Hon. Muasya described the late Mama Mulila as a respected elder whose life reflected humility, love, and dedication to serving others. He encouraged the family to remain united and strong during this difficult period while drawing inspiration from the admirable life she lived.
Governor Malombe also extended his condolences to the bereaved family, noting that the passing of Mama Mulila was a great loss not only to her family but also to the wider community that benefited from her wisdom and guidance.
The funeral mass was presided over by Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, alongside the Coadjutor Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Machakos. In his homily, Bishop Mwongela urged the faithful to remain steadfast in faith and prayer, reminding mourners that a life lived in love and service leaves behind a lasting legacy.
The burial ceremony brought together leaders from the national government, county leadership, relatives, friends, and residents who turned up in large numbers to stand with the bereaved family during the solemn occasion.
Mama Veronica Mulila was finally laid to rest at her home in Kitheka, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unity that will continue to inspire the community for generations to come.
