Kitui Central Member of Parliament, Makali Mulu, has officially declared his intention to vie for the Kitui gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election, expressing strong confidence in his chances of clinching victory.
Speaking during a fundraiser held at Mutulu Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Dr. Mulu told residents that his decision to enter the race is driven by a desire to transform Kitui County’s leadership and accelerate development across all sectors. He emphasized that he will not just be on the ballot, but will emerge the winner and serve as the next governor.
“I will be on the ballot in 2027, and I will win. The people of Kitui deserve focused leadership that delivers real change,” he said, drawing applause from the congregation and local residents in attendance.
The event, which was organized to help offset a hospital bill for Hellen Muasya , brought together community members, leaders, and well-wishers in a show of unity and compassion. Dr. Mulu used the opportunity to highlight the importance of collective responsibility, noting that leaders must remain closely connected to the needs of the people they serve.
He further outlined his vision for Kitui, promising to prioritize healthcare, infrastructure, water access, and economic empowerment if elected governor. According to him, the county has vast untapped potential that requires strategic leadership and accountability to fully realize.
Dr. Mulu also called on residents to begin preparing for the upcoming elections by registering as voters and participating actively in the democratic process. He assured them that his leadership will be inclusive and focused on delivering tangible results.
The declaration sets the stage for what is expected to be a competitive gubernatorial race in Kitui County, with political alignments and campaigns likely to intensify as the 2027 elections draw closer.
As the political landscape begins to take shape, all eyes will be on how candidates position themselves and connect with voters in the coming months.
