Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has reaffirmed his strong commitment to youth empowerment after flagging off Makueni’s team to the Kenya Youth Inter County Sports Association Games in Laikipia County.
Addressing the players, the Governor expressed confidence in their preparedness, noting that the team reflects his administration’s deliberate investment in grassroots sports development. He highlighted that the squad was competitively selected from Ligi Mashinani and MKJ Supa Cup key initiatives driving talent growth across the county.
The team departs for Nyahururu for the week long tournament, where Makueni will defend its titles in women’s football and men’s basketball.
Governor Mutula urged the players to uphold discipline and excellence, assuring them of continued county support as they represent Makueni on the national stage.
