Tabitha Mutinda has renewed her call for stronger action in advancing women’s rights and opportunities, saying that championing women’s issues is a duty that leaders must embrace with urgency and purpose.
In a powerful message centered on equality and inclusion, Mutinda said advocating for women should never be viewed as an act of charity, but as a core responsibility of leadership.
“Advocating for women’s matters is not a favour, it is a responsibility. It simply means creating spaces where women can lead without fear, contribute without bias and thrive without limitation,” she said.
The Nairobi nominated senator, who has increasingly positioned herself as a key voice on gender and youth empowerment, emphasized that true leadership must confront systemic barriers that continue to hold women back in society.
Mutinda urged leaders at all levels to speak out against inequality, support women’s growth and ensure equal access to opportunities that have historically been denied to many.
“As leaders, let us call out inequality, support growth and ensure that doors that have long been closed are opened,” she said.
She noted that empowering women has far-reaching benefits that extend beyond individuals, saying communities and economies stand to gain when women are given the chance to lead and succeed.
“When leaders champion women’s issues, they don’t just change individual lives, they transform communities, economies and future generations,” Mutinda stated.
Her remarks reflect a growing push for more inclusive leadership in Kenya, especially as conversations around representation and equal opportunities continue to shape the country’s political landscape.
Mutinda also challenged fellow leaders to move beyond rhetoric and take deliberate steps that make equality a lived reality for women and girls.
“So let us lead with intention, advocate with purpose and let us build a future where equality is not an aspiration, but a reality,” she said.
Ending her message on a hopeful note, Mutinda reaffirmed her belief in the power of women to shape a better future.
“Empowered women empower the world.”
