Hon. Mark Nding’o Leads Kitui Leaders in Strong Condemnation of Kwa Kamari Killings

Leaders from Kitui County have continued to condemn in the strongest terms possible the brutal attack at Kwa Kamari in Tseikuru, Mwingi North, where seven people were killed in a shocking incident that has left residents in fear and mourning.

The leaders termed the attack as heinous and unacceptable, calling for swift and decisive action from security agencies to restore order and protect lives in the region.

Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward MCA, Mark Nding’o, strongly denounced the killings and urged the national government to urgently deploy police officers to security facilities that were constructed by the county government but remain understaffed.
He noted that the administration of Julius Malombe had invested in building police stations across the region, but the absence of personnel has left residents exposed to attacks.

“We cannot continue losing innocent lives when infrastructure meant to enhance security is already in place but not operational due to lack of officers,” he said.

Nding’o further called for the immediate arrest of the attackers, who are believed to be armed pastoralists using camels, and demanded that they be arraigned in a court of law without delay.
Other leaders echoed his sentiments, urging the national government to enhance surveillance, increase patrols, and ensure that communities in Mwingi North are safeguarded against further attacks.

The incident has heightened tensions in the area, with residents now calling for long-term security interventions to prevent recurring cases of banditry and violence.
