Machakos, KCB Forge Partnership to Boost Economic Empowerment and Financial Inclusion

The County Government of Machakos is set to strengthen economic development and financial empowerment through a strategic partnership with Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) following a high-level meeting held with the bank’s leadership team in Machakos.The discussions brought together Dr. Silpah Owich, Head of Distribution at Kenya Commercial Bank, alongside officials from the newly opened KCB Eastern Region office in Machakos. The meeting focused on identifying areas of collaboration between the county government and the bank aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing financial inclusion, supporting local businesses, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for residents across Machakos County.Leaders from both sides emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in driving inclusive growth and improving livelihoods. The proposed collaboration is expected to support small and medium-sized enterprises, empower youth and women entrepreneurs, and expand access to financial services within the county.The opening of the KCB Eastern Region office in Machakos was described as a significant milestone that will bring banking services closer to the people while strengthening economic activity within the region.
