Patients in need of dialysis services at Machakos County Referral Hospital can now access faster and more efficient treatment following the installation of new equipment at the hospital’s renal centre.
Previously, limited machines and capacity at the renal unit meant that only a few patients could receive dialysis services, forcing many to endure long waiting periods or travel far from home in search of specialized kidney care.
The newly installed dialysis machines have significantly boosted the hospital’s treatment capacity, enabling more patients to receive timely and quality renal care closer to home. The upgrade is expected to ease the burden on patients and families while improving service delivery at the facility.
Hospital management noted that the enhanced renal centre marks a major step in strengthening specialized healthcare services within the county and improving the quality of life for patients living with kidney disease.
