Hon. Michael Kisoi Munyao Joins Leaders at Kathyaka as Calls Grow for Action on Elephant Invasions

Hon. Michael Kisoi Munyao, the frontrunner in the Mbooni MP race for 2027, joined senior leaders and residents at a mammoth public meeting held at Kathyaka Market, where concerns over the persistent invasion of elephants in Kikumbulyu and Lower Makindu dominated discussions.

Addressing the gathering, leaders reiterated that President William Ruto’s Government is committed to serving the people and ensuring that public servants remain responsive to the needs and concerns of wananchi.

Residents expressed frustration over the continued destruction of crops and property by elephants, with concerns being raised that the situation has persisted for years without a lasting solution. It was noted that the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Director General had been engaged on the matter several times over the last three years and should now take responsibility for the losses and suffering experienced by affected communities.

The mood at the packed Kathyaka Market meeting reflected the growing concerns among residents, who called for urgent intervention to protect their livelihoods and food security.

Hon. Michael Kisoi Munyao stood out among the leaders present, receiving a warm reception from residents. The youthful and influential leader reaffirmed his commitment to championing the interests of the people and supporting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods across the region. His presence further energized the gathering as residents continued to rally behind his vision and leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event was held during an empowerment drive organized by MCA Hon. Jackson Mbalu, which attracted a large turnout from across the area. Leaders thanked the residents of Kathyaka for turning up in large numbers and participating in the development-focused programme.

Special appreciation was also extended to President William Ruto for his personal contribution towards supporting the people of the area. Leaders further reaffirmed their support for the UDA Party and the government’s development agenda.

Among those present were Aviation Principal Secretary Hon. Terry Mbaika, Hon. Fred Muteti, Hon. Michael Kisoi Munyao, Hon. George Mwangangi, Hon. Regina Ndambuki, Dr. Andrew Mulwa, Dr. Stephen Ndolo, MCA Cosmas Mutunga, nominated MCA Josephine Ndambuki, and several other leaders.
