Governor Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to delivering quality, accessible healthcare by overseeing the completion of a modernized Casualty Unit at Kangundo Level 4 Hospital, a major investment aimed at strengthening emergency medical services in Machakos County.
During an inspection tour of the upgraded facility, Governor Wavinya assessed the newly equipped unit, which is strategically positioned to provide rapid emergency and trauma care for residents and motorists using the busy Kangundo Joska Kamulu Road. The enhanced facility is expected to significantly improve the county’s capacity to respond to accidents and medical emergencies while ensuring patients receive timely, life saving treatment closer to home.
The Governor noted that the improved Casualty Unit will ease pressure on Machakos Level 5 Hospital and reduce referrals to health facilities in Nairobi by enabling more patients to access specialized emergency care within the county.
The investment underscores the County Government’s continued efforts to strengthen the healthcare system by improving emergency response, enhancing patient outcomes, and expanding access to quality medical services. It also reflects Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s broader agenda of advancing Primary Health Care and accelerating the realization of Universal Health Coverage, ensuring that every resident has access to efficient, reliable, and affordable healthcare for all Machakos residents.
