Machakos County has taken a major step towards safer healthcare and environmental protection following the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Medical Microwave Shredder at Kangundo Level 4 Hospital by H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti, EGH.
The commissioning marks another milestone in Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s ongoing investment in strengthening healthcare systems across the county through modern infrastructure, improved patient safety, and sustainable environmental practices.
The advanced Medical Microwave Shredder is designed to safely treat and dispose of infectious healthcare waste using environmentally friendly technology. Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Wavinya Ndeti reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to transforming healthcare services by investing in modern technologies that improve service delivery while protecting public health and the environment.
The installation of the equipment also strengthens compliance with national healthcare waste management standards, ensuring that Kangundo Level 4 Hospital adopts globally recognized best practices in handling hazardous medical waste.
The initiative underscores the County Government of Machakos’ broader agenda of modernizing health facilities, promoting environmental sustainability, and delivering safe, high quality, and people centred healthcare services to residents across the county.
Under Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s leadership, Machakos County continues to prioritize investments that not only improve healthcare outcomes but also create healthier, safer, and more sustainable communities for present and future generations.
