Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to providing accessible, quality, and patient-centred healthcare following the commissioning of key medical infrastructure at Kimiti Level 4 Hospital in Matungulu West.
The Governor officially commissioned a modern healthcare incinerator, a placenta disposal unit, and a state-of-the-art oxygen manifold system, marking another significant milestone in the County Government’s ongoing investment in strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Machakos County.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Wavinya said that a safe, clean, and well equipped healthcare environment is essential to delivering quality healthcare services. She noted that the new investments reflect her administration’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare outcomes and ensuring residents have access to efficient and reliable medical services.
The newly installed oxygen manifold will provide a continuous and dependable supply of piped medical oxygen directly to patients’ bedsides, significantly enhancing emergency response and critical care services. The system is expected to improve patient outcomes by ensuring lifesaving oxygen is readily available whenever required.
The modern incinerator and placenta disposal unit will bolster infection prevention and control by ensuring the safe disposal of medical waste while promoting environmental safety and maintaining high standards of hygiene within the hospital.
The newly commissioned facilities are expected to benefit an estimated 11,500 residents served by Kimiti Level 4 Hospital and its surrounding catchment area, improving the hospital’s capacity to deliver timely, efficient, and quality healthcare services.
Governor Wavinya reiterated that her administration remains focused on transforming the county’s healthcare sector through strategic investments in modern medical infrastructure, equipment, and systems that enhance service delivery and improve the quality of life for Machakos residents.
