Sammy Muisyo Urges President Ruto to Visit Kitui for Development, Calls for Release of County Funds

Prominent Kitui leader Sammy Muisyo has called on President William Ruto to visit Kitui County and spearhead development projects, insisting that the region is in dire need of infrastructure and economic growth. Speaking during a public gathering, Muisyo emphasized that those opposing the President’s visit do not understand how development is initiated and executed.

“We need the President to come to Kitui and see for himself the challenges we are facing. Development cannot happen if leaders keep politicizing his visits. Those who do not want him here simply do not understand how things work,” Muisyo stated.

Muisyo also took the opportunity to commend President Ruto for his efforts in transforming Kenya. He praised the Head of State for his commitment to national development, citing ongoing projects that have positively impacted various sectors of the economy.

“I want to thank President Ruto for the good work he is doing across the country. His leadership is bringing real change, and we appreciate his dedication,” he said.

However, Muisyo expressed concern over the delayed disbursement of county funds, warning that stalled development projects were hurting residents. He urged President Ruto to expedite the release of the funds to enable county governments to function effectively.

“Right now, development has come to a standstill because counties do not have money. I am pleading with the President to intervene and ensure funds are released so that projects can continue,” Muisyo added.

His remarks come at a time when many county governments are struggling to fund essential services due to delays in treasury allocations.

Residents of Kitui have also echoed Muisyo’s sentiments, saying that they welcome President Ruto’s visit and hope it will bring much-needed development to the region.

As the push for more resources and presidential attention continues, all eyes are on the national government to see how it will address these pressing concerns.
