Kitui Woman Representative hopeful Hon. Fridah Makasi reaffirmed her commitment to promoting education and supporting vulnerable learners when she attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Prize Giving Day at Kaundu Secondary School in Mumoni Ward, Mwingi North.
The event brought together parents, teachers, students, and education stakeholders to celebrate the outstanding performance of the 2025 KCSE candidates, whose hard work and determination saw Kaundu Secondary School emerge as the 6th best-performing school in Kitui County.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Makasi congratulated the students, teachers, the Board of Management, and parents for the remarkable achievement, describing it as proof that discipline, teamwork, and investment in education can transform communities. She encouraged the students to remain focused on their academic goals and strive for even greater success.
Demonstrating her passion for inclusive education, Hon. Makasi also participated in a fundraising drive aimed at supporting needy students, helping to mobilize resources that will enable financially challenged learners to remain in school and pursue their dreams without interruption.
She emphasized that no child should be denied the opportunity to access quality education because of financial hardship, noting that investing in young people is the surest way to secure a brighter future for Kitui County.
Parents and school leaders commended Hon. Makasi for her support and dedication to education, expressing confidence that her continued engagement with learning institutions would inspire more initiatives to uplift students across the county.
