Dr. Irene Kasalu Boosts Women Empowerment with NGAAF Support in Inyuu

Women in inyuu in chuluni ward received a major boost after Kitui County Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu, through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), donated a 100-seater tent to a local Community-Based Organization (CBO) and issued empowerment cheques to women’s groups.

The initiative was aimed at strengthening community organizations while enhancing the economic capacity of women through financial support. The newly donated tent is expected to serve members during community meetings, social events, training sessions, and other development activities, reducing the cost of hiring such facilities.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Dr. Kasalu reaffirmed her commitment to uplifting women, youth, and vulnerable groups across Kitui County through sustainable empowerment programmes. She noted that investing in organized women’s groups is one of the most effective ways of improving household incomes and promoting community development.

She encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the empowerment funds prudently by investing in income-generating activities that will improve their livelihoods and create lasting economic opportunities for their families.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Woman Representative, describing the donation of the 100-seater tent and the empowerment cheques as timely interventions that will strengthen their groups and enhance their development initiatives.

The latest support underscores Dr. Irene Kasalu’s continued efforts through NGAAF to promote women empowerment, foster self-reliance, and support grassroots development across Kitui County.
