CPA Nicholas Mulila, who is eyeing the Kitui gubernatorial seat, has stepped in to support Kyaani Comprehensive School in Kithumula, Kwa Mutonga Ward, Kitui West, after serious health and safety concerns threatened the institution’s reopening.
The school had been warned by health officers that it risked failing to reopen unless urgent measures were taken to construct a new kitchen. The existing structure had reportedly deteriorated, exposing learners to dust contamination and unsafe cooking conditions.
With the future of hundreds of learners at stake, Mulila responded by donating cement and machine-cut stones to support the construction of a new and safer kitchen facility.
His intervention has provided renewed hope to the school community, with the construction materials laying the foundation for a facility expected to offer a safer and more dignified environment for food preparation.
