wavinya ndeti strengthens maternal healthcare as ndunduni maternity wing opens in kangundo north

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to improving access to quality and affordable healthcare services after commissioning the Ndunduni Maternity Wing at Ndunduni Dispensary in Kangundo North Ward.

The new facility is expected to significantly transform maternal and newborn healthcare in the area by bringing essential services closer to residents and reducing the distance expectant mothers have to travel to access safe delivery services.

Since its establishment, the maternity wing has already served 98 mothers and is expected to benefit more than 8,000 mothers in the surrounding area.

Governor Ndeti said the investment was part of her administration’s broader agenda to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across Machakos County and ensure that residents can access essential medical services within their communities.

The commissioning of the facility marks another step in the Governor’s efforts to expand healthcare services, particularly for mothers and newborns, while ensuring that no resident is forced to travel long distances in search of basic medical care.
Under Governor Ndeti’s leadership, the Machakos County Government continues to invest in the improvement of health facilities and the expansion of services to ensure that residents receive quality, affordable and accessible healthcare.

The Ndunduni Maternity Wing is therefore expected to play a critical role in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes in Kangundo North Ward, while supporting the county’s wider vision of a stronger and more accessible healthcare system.
