Nzilu Takes Centre Stage as Kitui Central MP Hopeful Joins Kalonzo at Key Opposition Prayer Day

Kitui Central MP hopeful Hon. Christopher Nzilu Nzioka today joined Wiper Patriotic Front leader Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and other prominent opposition leaders during a prayer day held at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) in Kitui County.

The event brought together a section of the country’s opposition leadership, providing an opportunity for leaders to unite in prayer and reflect on the country’s political and socio-economic direction.

Among those present were former Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi and former Vice-President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, alongside other senior opposition figures, including Eugene Wamalwa.

Nzilu’s presence at the gathering further placed him among leaders seeking to strengthen political engagement in Kitui and the wider Ukambani region ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The Kitui Central MP hopeful interacted with leaders and residents attending the prayer event, underscoring the importance of unity, peaceful political engagement and service to the people.

The gathering came at a time when opposition leaders have intensified grassroots mobilisation across the country, with Ukambani emerging as a key political battleground ahead of the 2027 elections.

The presence of prominent national leaders at the Kitui event also highlighted the growing political attention being given to the region as various parties and political formations position themselves for the next electoral contest.
