Community Shines as Stellar Mengele Foundation Celebrates Its Impact on Children and Women

The event, led by the foundation’s founder Stellar Mengele, brought together community members, local leaders, and national figures who commended the organisation’s expanding impact across the region. The Stellar Mengele Foundation and Gift Connect programmes have become a lifeline for children under five and pregnant mothers, offering nutritional support, essential services, and community education.

Stellar Mengele Warns Against Gender-Based Violence

In her keynote address, Stellar Mengele strongly condemned the rising cases of gender-based violence (GBV), urging families and community leaders to stand against the vice.

“Our communities cannot thrive when women and children live in fear. We must speak out, we must act, and we must protect the vulnerable,” she said.

Mengele encouraged both men and women to embrace dialogue, respect, and mutual support as the foundation continues to champion family welfare.

Prof. Kivutha Kibwana Calls on Men to Protect Their Families

The former Makueni Governor, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, graced the occasion accompanied by his wife. In his remarks, he challenged men to take a leading role in safeguarding the wellbeing of their spouses.

“A responsible man protects his wife, supports her, and walks with her. Our homes will be stronger when we abandon violence and embrace love and understanding,” he said.

Kibwana applauded Stellar Mengele for her exemplary service to society, describing her as “a shining example of compassion and leadership.”

Women Leaders Rally Behind Female Leadership

Makueni Woman Representative Hon. Rose Museo, who also attended, encouraged increased investment in initiatives that uplift women and young children. She hailed the foundation for filling critical gaps in community welfare.

Representing Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe was the Kitui County Minister for Gender, ICT, Sports, and Culture, Madam Phoebe Mutemi, who emphasized the power of women supporting women.

“When we empower women in leadership, we empower entire communities. Women must stand with one another so that more of us can rise and lead,” she said.

A Celebration of Impact and Community Transformation

All leaders present showered praise on Stellar Mengele and her foundation for their dedication to improving lives in Kitui West and beyond. They noted that the work being done especially for children under five and pregnant mothers continues to transform households and restore hope in vulnerable families.

The event ended with renewed calls for community support, collaboration, and sustained efforts to build a safer, healthier, and more empowered society.
