Dr. Makali Mulu Empowers 150 Kitui Central Boda Boda Riders with Driving Licences After Professional Training.

Kitui Central Member of Parliament and Kitui gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 General Election, Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, today reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment by issuing 150 driving licences to boda boda riders from Kitui Central Constituency after successfully facilitating their professional rider training.

The 150 beneficiaries received their driving licences upon successfully completing the training programme, which was fully sponsored and facilitated by Dr. Makali Mulu. The initiative was designed to equip riders with essential road safety knowledge, improve professionalism in the boda boda sector, and enhance their ability to earn a sustainable livelihood.

Speaking during the licence issuance ceremony, Dr. Makali Mulu emphasized that investing in young people through skills development and empowerment is key to transforming communities and creating lasting economic opportunities.

He urged the riders to strictly adhere to traffic rules, prioritize the safety of their passengers, and uphold discipline while carrying out their daily work.
Dr. Makali Mulu noted that the boda boda industry remains one of the largest sources of employment for the youth and pledged to continue championing programmes that improve the welfare of young people and support small-scale entrepreneurs across Kitui County.

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the legislator, saying the training and the acquisition of driving licences would enable them to operate legally, boost their confidence, and open doors to greater economic opportunities. They praised Dr. Makali Mulu for his unwavering commitment to empowering ordinary wananchi through practical and impactful initiatives.

The issuance of the 150 driving licences marked yet another milestone in Dr. Makali Mulu’s development agenda, further cementing his reputation as a leader committed to empowering the youth, creating opportunities, and improving the livelihoods of the people of Kitui Central and the wider Kitui County.
