The Catholic Diocese of Kitui has appointed Rev. Fr. Jefferson Mutinda as its new Vicar General, effective August 27, 2026.
The appointment was made by His Lordship Rt. Rev. John Mwandi following his consecration as Bishop of Kitui on August 8, 2026, in accordance with Canon 475 §1 of the Code of Canon Law.
Fr. Mutinda has served as Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Parish, Miambani, since August 20, 2024. He is also a member of the College of Consultors and the Diocesan Tribunal.
In a memorandum to priests, religious men and women, and Christians across the diocese, Bishop Mwandi commended Fr. Mutinda to the fatherly guidance of St. Joseph and the intercession of Our Lady of Protection.
