Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has underscored the importance of forging strong partnerships to drive youth empowerment and infrastructure growth in the county.
This came as he hosted Ambassador Lynette Mwende Ndile, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Kenya Embassy in Beijing, China, for high-level discussions at his office. The talks focused on unlocking new opportunities through collaboration between the National and County governments, with an emphasis on youth skilling, modern infrastructure, and expanded development cooperation.
Governor Malombe emphasized that Kitui’s transformation agenda requires a well-structured roadmap, anchored on strategic partnerships that can enhance the quality of training in the county’s Vocational Training Centres (VTCs). He noted that Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) will play a pivotal role in improving curricula, upgrading facilities, and ensuring equitable access to skills training for young people.
Applauding Ambassador Ndile’s initiative to engage with Kitui County, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to pursuing collaborative solutions that can deliver lasting benefits to the youth and the broader community.
“This engagement reflects the spirit of unity and cooperation needed to prepare our young people for future opportunities while also strengthening the county’s development foundation,” Governor Malombe stated.
