Governor Malombe Commissions Modern Workshops at Kanyangi VTC to Boost Technical Training

Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening technical education after commissioning two modern workshops at Kanyangi Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in Kitui Rural Subcounty.

The newly completed workshops are expected to significantly improve the institution’s capacity to offer practical skills training, while also enhancing safety and security within the learning environment. The facilities have been designed to safeguard tools and equipment, ensuring that trainees can operate in a secure and well-equipped setting.

Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Malombe emphasized that investment in vocational training remains a key pillar of his development agenda, noting that such projects are critical in empowering youth with hands-on skills that align with market demands.

He highlighted that the county government is focused on upgrading training infrastructure across Kitui to create more opportunities for young people, reduce unemployment, and promote self-reliance through technical expertise.

The governor further reiterated his administration’s resolve to provide conducive learning environments in all vocational institutions, adding that improved facilities not only enhance training quality but also attract more learners to technical courses.

The commissioning of the Kanyangi VTC workshops marks another milestone in the county’s efforts to expand access to quality technical education and equip residents with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.
