Governor Malombe Reaffirms Commitment to Development Over Early Politics

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has firmly stated that his focus remains on development and service delivery, not early political campaigns. The Governor was speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Kitute Nding’o at his Mamole home in Kitui Rural Sub-county.

Dr. Malombe emphasized that his administration is committed to fulfilling promises made to the electorate, steering clear of premature political debates about the 2027 elections.

“I promised to focus on service delivery during my campaigns, and I am committed to delivering that across the county,” Governor Malombe said, underscoring his resolve to uplift the lives of Kitui residents through tangible development.

Among the projects highlighted was the construction of male and female wards at Yatta Health Centre, which the Governor pledged to fully equip to bolster healthcare services in the area. He noted that this was part of a broader development agenda already in motion across the county.

“In my recent address, I reported that we have successfully implemented over 1,900 development projects since 2022. This is proof of our dedication to transformative leadership,” he said.

Addressing speculation about his political future, Dr. Malombe said seeking re-election in 2027 was not currently on his agenda.

“As for whether I will seek to defend my seat in 2027, that is not my current focus. My priority remains delivering on the mandate I’ve been given and addressing the pressing needs of our people,” he stated. “If the constitution allows it, I will consider defending my seat, but that decision will be made at the appropriate time. For now, I prefer not to politicize 2027.”

The Governor’s remarks were well received by the crowd, reinforcing his image as a development-focused leader committed to service over political maneuvering.
