Governor Malombe Strengthens Healthcare with Commissioning of Kyangunga Health Centre Facilities.

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare services across the county after commissioning key health infrastructure projects at Kyangunga Health Centre in Mulango Ward.The Governor officially opened a newly constructed inpatient block, a modern maternity unit, and a staff house at the facility, projects undertaken by his administration to strengthen healthcare service delivery and improve access to quality medical care for residents of Kyangunga and surrounding areas.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Malombe said his government remains focused on transforming the health sector through strategic investments in infrastructure, medical equipment, and human resource support. He noted that the newly completed facilities will significantly enhance healthcare services, especially maternal care, while also providing a conducive working environment for healthcare workers.

Dr. Malombe emphasized that quality healthcare remains one of the key pillars of his administration’s development agenda, adding that his government is determined to ensure residents receive efficient and affordable healthcare services closer to their homes. He said the construction of the inpatient block and maternity unit will reduce the burden on patients who previously had to travel long distances in search of specialized services.

The Governor further stated that investing in healthcare infrastructure is essential in building a healthier and more productive society. He assured residents that his administration will continue rolling out development projects aimed at strengthening healthcare systems in all wards across Kitui County.

The event was attended by Mulango Ward MCA Peter Mwanza, Nominated MCA Mary Ndumbu, County Executive Committee Member for Health Ruth Koki, Chief Officer for Medical Services Dr. Benson Musyoka, Chief Officer for Public Health Lynn Kitwan, other county officials, and local leaders, who praised the county government’s efforts in improving healthcare access in the region.ENDS///…
