Governor Malombe’s Bold Leadership Reshaping Kitui’s Future With Water, Health, and Infrastructure Revolution

A new wave of transformation is sweeping across Kitui County as Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH cements his legacy as a visionary reformer and development driven leader. With strategic precision and people centered governance, Dr. Malombe has placed Kitui on a fast-track development path, delivering projects that touch every corner of the county.

Unlike leaders who cling to rhetoric, Governor Malombe has chosen to let action speak and the results are undeniable.

Water Security: A Lifeline to Every Household

In a region where water scarcity has historically crippled livelihoods, Governor Malombe’s administration has launched a robust water security blueprint. The monumental Kangu Kangu Water Project, valued at KSh 840 million in partnership with World Vision, now supplies clean, safe water to over 100,000 residents across Kitui South and Kitui Rural.

Complementing this landmark investment, his government has rolled out 115 solar-powered boreholes and 347 sand dams, giving over 150,000 residents a new lease of life in drought-prone localities. Today, children walk to school instead of rivers, livestock survive harsh seasons, and women are freed from the burden of long water treks.

Healthcare Breakthroughs for Every Family

Governor Malombe has placed equal priority on human dignity and health. His administration has reshaped the healthcare landscape with the operationalization of the Phangisile Mtshali Cancer Centre a lifeline for families who previously traveled to Nairobi or Mombasa for cancer care.

The revival of CT scan services at Kitui Referral Hospital and rehabilitation of nine ambulances boosting the fleet to 26 countywide has strengthened emergency response, ensuring that no life is lost due to delayed medical support.

Roads Opening New Economic Frontiers

To unlock business, agriculture, and mobility, Dr. Malombe has overseen the grading of over 5,000 kilometers of rural access roads. Farmers now transport produce with ease, rural villages are connected to markets, and trade is flourishing across Kitui’s sub-counties.

Empowering Farmers and Youth Through Industrial Growth

Kitui’s agricultural backbone is receiving renewed strength through the Kitui County Aggregation and Industrial Park (K-CAIP). This initiative is spearheading value addition for farm produce, uplifting over 500,000 farmers, and creating economic opportunities especially for youth and women.

Grassroots Development Like Never Before

Through the revival of the Community Level Infrastructure Development Programme (CLIDP), the county has delivered close to 1,000 local projects across all 40 wards. The result? Balanced development, improved village infrastructure, and enhanced community empowerment.

Investing in the Future Education First

In a bold move to elevate early learning standards, Dr. Malombe confirmed 1,688 ECDE teachers to permanent and pensionable terms a historic decision that underscores his commitment to building a strong educational foundation for the next generation.

National Recognition for Discipline and Delivery

Governor Malombe’s meticulous governance approach has borne fruit ranking Kitui 7th nationally in development expenditure and number one in the Lower Eastern region. His administration continues setting the benchmark for economic prudence, transparency, and sustainable growth.

From water to healthcare, roads to education and industry, Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has not just promised development he has delivered it. Kitui today stands not as a county waiting for change, but as a beacon of what purposeful leadership can achieve when the people come first.

As the transformation continues, one thing is clear: Kitui is rising, and Governor Malombe is leading from the front.
