Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has strengthened access to reliable water in Ndithini Ward following the commissioning of the rehabilitated Murrifarm Water Project distribution lines, a major step towards improving water supply for households and supporting agricultural production. The project includes solarisation and the installation of a new motor and pump to enhance water distribution and reliability.
The rehabilitation has expanded the water distribution network from the previous 5 kilometres to 7 kilometres, following an additional 2-kilometre extension. The improved infrastructure is expected to benefit over 2,000 residents across Murifarm, Matema, Mananja and Kasuvilo Sublocations by providing more reliable water for domestic use and livestock production.
The project is also expected to boost small-scale irrigation, enabling farmers to increase agricultural production, improve food security and raise household incomes. The investment aligns with Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni initiative, which seeks to strengthen food security and improve livelihoods through enhanced agricultural productivity and access to essential services.
