Governor Wavinya Ndeti Leads County Delegation Before Senate Committee, Wins Approval Over Audit Responses

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability after leading a county delegation before the Senate’s County Public Investment and Social Funds Committee, which expressed satisfaction with the explanations presented on audited public investments.

The Governor today led officials from the Department of Lands, Housing, Urban Development and Roads to appear before the Senate committee chaired by Vihiga Senator Hon. Godfrey Osotsi, to respond to issues raised in the 2024/2025 audit report concerning the county’s water companies and municipalities.

Addressing the matter, Governor Ndeti emphasized that effective oversight of public investments is essential in safeguarding public resources and ensuring improved service delivery to wananchi. She noted that the engagement with the Senate formed part of her administration’s broader agenda of open governance and responsible management of public funds.

According to the Governor, the committee was satisfied with the explanations and clarifications provided by the county team, a development she said reflects the seriousness with which her administration treats accountability and audit processes.

Governor Ndeti reiterated that her leadership remains firmly anchored on transparency, accountability, and results-driven service delivery, adding that her government will continue to cooperate fully with oversight institutions to ensure public resources are managed prudently for the benefit of Machakos residents.
