Hon. Fridah Makasi, the incoming Kitui Woman Representative on the Wiper Patriotic Front ticket, has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to championing the economic empowerment of women across Kitui County, saying that empowering women is key to unlocking the county’s full development potential.
Speaking during an engagement with women leaders and members of various self-help groups, Hon. Makasi noted that women remain the backbone of families and communities and deserve greater opportunities to improve their livelihoods through sustainable income generating activities.
She emphasized the need to strengthen women’s access to affordable credit, business training, financial literacy, and government empowerment programmes that will enable them to expand their enterprises and achieve financial independence.
Hon. Makasi further pledged to work closely with national and county government agencies, development partners, and community organizations to ensure women from all parts of Kitui benefit from programmes aimed at reducing poverty and improving household incomes.
She urged women to remain united, embrace entrepreneurship, and take advantage of available opportunities, assuring them that her leadership will be centred on service, inclusion, and practical solutions to their daily challenges.
