Kitui Central MP urges residents to register as voters, vows people-centered leadership anchored on faith and development.

Kitui Central MP, Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, CBS, and a frontrunner in the 2027 Kitui gubernatorial race, on Sunday joined worshippers at Miambani AIC Church in Mui Ward, Mwingi Central Constituency. The occasion, filled with song, prayer, and thanksgiving, doubled as a moment of reflection on faith and leadership.

Dr. Mulu, widely respected for his track record as a development economist and transformative legislator, called upon the faithful to keep him in their prayers as he prepares to seek the county’s top seat in 2027. He emphasized that Kitui needs a leader whose vision is grounded on proven performance, service, and commitment to uplifting the lives of ordinary citizens.

“Leadership is a God-given responsibility. As I prepare for 2027, I humbly ask for your prayers. Together, we can build a prosperous Kitui where every household has hope and opportunity,” he said, drawing applause from the congregation.

The MP further urged residents, especially the youth, to acquire National Identity Cards and voter’s cards in readiness for the next elections. He underscored that meaningful change can only be achieved if citizens elect leaders with a demonstrated record of development and integrity.

“It is not enough to hope for a better county—we must take responsibility by choosing leaders who put people first. Let us vote for development, not empty promises,” he added.

Present during the service were Mui Ward MCA Hon. Cornelius Ngumbau, Chief Officer for Finance and Revenue Mr. John Makau, and a host of other local leaders who affirmed their support for Dr. Mulu’s gubernatorial ambition.

Dr. Makali Mulu has continued to position himself as the candidate of choice for Kitui in 2027, leveraging his experience in Parliament, his development-centered agenda, and his strong grassroots connection. His message of faith, service, and transformational leadership has resonated deeply with many across the county.

As the countdown to 2027 gathers pace, Dr. Mulu’s presence in the villages, churches, and community gatherings paints a picture of a leader ready to carry Kitui into a new era of inclusive growth and accountable governance.
