The County Ministry of Energy, Environment, Forestry, Natural and Mineral Resources today held a sensitization meeting at KEFRI on the operationalization of the Sand Act, 2024.
The meeting brought together sand transporters and dealers to be guided on registration, licensing, and compliance requirements in line with the new law.
The session was graced by CECM Richard Mwendandu; Chairman of the Kitui County River Basins Sand Utilization and Conservation Committee, Benjamin Mukulo; Chief Officer Henry Nyamai; and Committee Secretary, Evelyn Kasyoka who emphasized sustainable sand utilization, conservation, and adherence to the policy framework.
The meeting took place at KEFRI in Kitui town.
