The Kitui Youth Movement (KYM) has issued a strong statement condemning President William Ruto for what they describe as neglecting the Kamba community in government appointments. According to KYM, the Kenya Kwanza (KK) administration has failed to recognize the community’s contribution by not offering them any significant positions in government.
Led by KYM President Silvester Lawrence, the youth group expressed their disappointment, emphasizing that the Kamba people deserve recognition and representation at the national level.
“We have to support Dr. August Kyalo Muli, the party leader of the National Liberal Party (NLP) and a proud son of Kitui. He is the only leader who can champion the rights and interests of the Kamba community,” declared Lawrence.
KYM Director Ali Mutua called upon President Ruto to reconsider his stance and include the Kamba people, particularly the youth of Ukambani, in key government positions.
“The Kamba community is not a tribe to be undermined,” stated youth representative Timothy Mutunga. “We deserve our rightful place in the leadership of this country.”
2027 Presidential Bid: Dr. Muli the Only Hope for the Kamba Community

Amid their dissatisfaction with the current administration, KYM leaders have thrown their full support behind Dr. August Kyalo Muli, whom they believe is the right leader to uplift the Kamba people.
KYM Chairman Stephen Mbuvi urged all members of the community to unite behind Dr. Muli’s 2027 presidential bid, stating that he is the only leader capable of delivering justice and opportunities for the neglected region.
“The Kamba community should rally behind Dr. August Kyalo Muli to become the next president of Kenya in 2027. We have been sidelined for too long, and it’s time we take charge of our own future,” said Mbuvi.
Call for Voter Registration
As part of their movement for change, KYM has launched a campaign urging all eligible Kamba youth to obtain national identity cards and register as voters. They believe that political power lies in numbers and that a united Kamba vote in 2027 will be the key to bringing transformative leadership.
“We are calling on every Kamba youth to get an ID and a voter’s card. That is the only way we can secure our future and elect leaders who truly represent our interests,” the youth leaders emphasized.
- The Kitui Youth Movement has vowed to continue mobilizing and sensitizing the community, making it clear that their fight for inclusion and recognition is far from over. With the 2027 elections approaching, they remain steadfast in their belief that Dr. August Kyalo Muli is the leader who will bring real change to the Kamba people.
