Makali Mulu Flags Off Last Mile Electrification in Kitui Central

Kitui Central Member of Parliament, Dr. Makali Mulu, has announced the successful completion of the Last Mile Electrification Project in three villages of Kyangwithya East Ward.

The project, implemented through a partnership between the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) and the Kitui Central NG-CDF, has connected households, schools, businesses, and community institutions in Nyekini, Umuu, and Mutaoni villages to electricity.

Speaking during the announcement, Dr. Mulu described the initiative as a life-changing development that will spur economic growth and improve livelihoods.

“This project will go a long way in transforming lives through improved access to electricity for households, schools, businesses, and community institutions,” he stated.

The MP lauded the collaboration with REREC and emphasized the critical role of energy access in unlocking opportunities for rural communities. He also expressed gratitude to the people of Kitui Central for their continued support, noting that development is best achieved when leaders and citizens work together.

The electrification initiative is expected to enhance learning environments, boost local enterprises, and promote social development across the three villages.

Dr. Mulu reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring equitable access to infrastructure and services across Kitui Central, pledging to champion more projects that address the needs of the people.
